I dont want to look at BCs loss to Kansas last week and say hey, they look beatable!. The Knights strength is the running game. Rutgers 16, Boston College 14. but Im gonna do it anyway. I dont want to get my hopes dashed again... Our defense should be able to hold its own again a bottom-tier ACC team. Adam Ross: I dont want to be optimistic about this team. Let the running game keep the offense on the field, if nothing else to give the defense a breather for more than 90 seconds. BC is giving up 214 yards per game on the ground. Heck, this is going to be the last chance to do that for a while.

I think these kids work hard, and they deserve to get a morale booster. Boston College: 24, Rutgers 13. I do think, they will come out with something to prove, so it will be a bit closer than some of my colleagues are predicting. Cara Sanfilippo: I wish I could say I think Rutgers will win, especially because I have season tickets and will be at the game Saturday. I will be there to support either way, but at least make it interesting. Same old story. Prove me wrong, Rutgers, please. With Artur Sitkowski starting, he still has not shown any presence in the pocket or chemistry with his receivers, so I fear the offense will be mostly stagnant and the defense will tire out.

The Eagles are 1-2-0 ATS and 3-0-0 when betting on the total. Stadium is the site where McLane Carter and the Rutgers Scarlet Knights will take on the Boston College Eagles on Saturday. The total is set at 54. The Scarlet Knights are 1-1-0 when wagering on the over/under and 1-1-0 against the spread. Boston College opens this game as 7.5-point favorites.

Over / Under Prediction: The match between Rutgers Scarlet Knights and Boston College Eagles will end with under 58.50 points in full event at odds 1.85

Give me the free touchdown. While Boston College should probably win, it's a team that has an old school game where it relies on the ground and defense. Rutgers beat UMass and then got smoked by Iowa, two things we expected, and the Scarlet Knights have had an extra week to prepare for this game. I want to believe Rutgers is improved this year and the added rest does help. There shouldn't be a blowout on either side. The Boston College Eagles have split their last 10 games ATS as a road favorite. The Rutgers Scarlet Knights have covered seven of their last 11 games as a road underdog. It's hard to get a feel for Boston College, as it beat up on Virginia Tech opening week but then got run over by Kansas last week.

BC is a mediocre team at best but before the fan base jumps me, let me say Id kill for Rutgers to be mediocre. Boston College 35, Rutgers 10. And sadly enough, it doesnt take a Power 5 juggernaut to take this Rutgers team down. But it comes down to one simplified truth. If Carter is able to suit up, which does not seem likely, I think they have a punchers chance. If Art plays all four quarters I think their fate is sealed. This is a bad Rutgers football team, even by Rutgers standards. The defense looks like its regressed from last season and the offensive is as inept as ever. Patrick Mella: I could give you statistics to illustrate why I think Rutgers will lose this game.

In addition to Brown's strong play at quarterback, the Eagles have gotten excellent play from running back AJ Dillion who has gained 318 yards on 67 carries with four touchdowns. Boston College's offense has been clicking along throughout the early part of the season, averaging 34.7 points and 465.7 yards of total offense. Fortunately for Boston College, its defense has allowed a lot of yards but kept the points under control. Dillon was one of the lone brights spots against Kansas, rushing 27 times for 151 yards and a TD.

Isaih Pacheco has rushed for 198 yards and four touchdowns this year and he'll be a key to the Rutgers gameplan with starting quarterback McLane Carterout after suffering a concussion. Two weeks ago, Rutgers managed just 125 yards of total offense and turned the ball over three times against Iowa. However, the week prior, the offense was firing on all cylinders when it put up 554 yards from scrimmage against UMass.

For yards through the air allowed per game, the Scarlet Knights currently sit at 4th in the Big Ten Conference. As a team, they have compiled a total of 290 yards rushing through 2 games, so they'll need to look to improve on these numbers if they want to compete with the better teams in the nation. When talking about rushing yards, they are giving up 188.5 yards per game which puts them at 109th in the country and 14th in the conference. The Scarlet Knights average 339.5 yards per contest overall putting them 105th in college football and 13th in the Big Ten. This year, they have allowed 377 rushing yards and 2 rushing TDs. The Scarlet Knights head into this matchup 1-1. They are conceding 182.5 passing yards per contest. In discussing points allowed, they have given up 51 points in total. Rutgers is having a year to forget in the ground game by averaging 145 yards on the ground per contest, putting them 86th in Division 1. Their passing defense is one of the elite units in D-1. The Scarlet Knights are giving up 25.5 points per contest ranking them 12th in the Big Ten Conference and 73rd in Division 1.

I think BC head coach Steve Addazio is going to try and beat Rutgers the old fashioned way by running it down their throats. Giving up big plays in the run game was a major issue last year, at times this season and theyve traditionally struggled against dual threat QBs. The RU defensive line hasnt proven to be able to generate pressure in the gaps on a consistent basis. Add in that Brown will be extra motivated to prove his home state school wrong by not offering him a scholarship and BC most likely angry after a bad loss to Kansas, I just think this will be more of the same that weve seen in the previous 15 games against power five teams. Dillon and Anthony Brown. If Rutgers doesnt start fast, it could get ugly in a hurry. Aaron Breitman: Two reasons Im skeptical that Rutgers can win this game is A.J.
